Chess Meetings: The Cafesjian Teen Council vs. Artists

March 13, 2020
“I have come to the personal conclusion that while all artists are not chess players, all chess players are artists.” – Marcel Duchamp

The members of the Cafesjian Teen Council present a new project: a competition of one of the most intellectual games in the world – Chess!
For about two months, a competition of one of the most intellectual games in the world – chess, will take place, and the teens will compete with an artist of their choice.
During the creative part of the project, the participants who lost the game will depict the portraits of the winners in their own preferable medium. An exhibition of the works of the lost participants will be organized at CCA’s Gallery One, concluding the project. As a result, both parties will be victorious: the loser's art will be exhibited, and the winner's portrait will be displayed.
The goal of the project is to create an opportunity for the teens to interact with artists and have discussions about the topics of their interest. Furthermore, new artworks will be created, and a unique exhibition project will be implemented as a result of the competition
