The Cafesjian Center for the Arts Hosted Six Presidents of Collective Security Organization Countries

On August 20 the Cafesjian Center for the Arts hosted the informal meeting of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member-countries. The meeting was attended by the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan; the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitriy Medvedev; the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev;  the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rakhmon; the interim leader of Kyrgyzstan, Rosa Otunbayeva, as well as the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Nikolay Bordyuzha. 

The seven leaders arrived at Khanjyan Gallery of the Cafesjian Center for the Art for the opening session of the CSTO informal summit. After the session, the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, the President of Russia, Dmitriy Medvedev, and the Secretary General of CSTO, Nikolay Bordyuzha, met with around 200 representatives of local and international press in Gallery One. The media representatives also used the press-center organized at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts.

“The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is honored to have been chosen as the venue for such an important state event and it has been a pleasure to cooperate with the President’s Office in preparing for the event”, said the Acting Executive Director, Vahagn Marabyan.

The Cafesjian Center for the Arts is dedicated to bringing the best of contemporary art to Armenia and presenting the best of Armenian culture to the world. Inspired by the vision of its founder, Mr. Gerard L. Cafesjian, the Center offers a wide variety of exhibitions, derived from Mr. Cafesjian’s own extensive collection of contemporary art. Having celebrated its grand opening in November 2009, CCA continues to exhibit unique works of modern art and offers a diverse program of visiting lecturers, films, concerts, and numerous educational initiatives for adults and children.
