“Lights! Camera! Saroyan!” Documentary Premiere at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts

The Cafesjian Center for the Arts hosted the Yerevan premiere of “Lights! Camera! Saroyan!” documentary movie about famous and beloved Armenian writer William Saroyan on September 25, 2019. The William Saroyan House-Museum, opened by the effort and initiative of “Renaissance” Foundation Armenia in 2018, hosted the American premiere of the documentary on January 25, 2019 in Fresno. The Yerevan premiere, organized by “Renaissance” Foundation Armenia, was held at the Special Events Auditorium of CCA.

An opening speech was delivered by Hasmik Meloyan, Project Manager of “Renaissance” Foundation Armenia. 


Afterwards, CCA Events Coordinator Emma Kirakosyan greeted the guests, noting how the two Armenians, G. L. Cafesjian and W. Saroyan, have made remarkable investments in the lives of Armenians. 


Professor Barlow Der Mugrdechian, the Director of Armenian Studies Program of California State University of Fresno, a special guest of the event who is featured in the documentary, also gave a brief speech before the screening.
