ENCOUNTERS WITH ART: Presentation of Sahak Poghosyan’s Quinta del Sordo Exhibition CatalogAugust 31, 2024 Quinta del Sordo (House of the Deaf) by Sahak Poghosyan is a monumental project that interweaves historical, conceptual, visual, and artistic narratives. Unravelling the complex layers of this 'multi-storey' project requires a journey spanning two centuries. It begins in the era of Francisco Goya, where the foundational 'ground floor' was laid; then we need to take the 'stairs' of the 20th century with Pablo Picasso. Finally, one reaches the contemporary 'top floor' with Sahak Poghosyan's Quinta del Sordo, culminating in the 21st century. During the event, the Quinta del Sordo series and its accompanying catalog will be presented, followed by a discussion featuring the artist Sahak Poghosyan and the exhibition's curator, Armen Yesayants, Director of Exhibitions at the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. Admission and HoursCafesjian Sculpture Garden: always open. Escalator Gallery: everyday, 8:00-20:00. Exhibition Galleries, Museum Store and Visitor Center: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 10:00-20:00. The Center is closed on state holidays. From April 1 until October 31, CCA Museum Store, besides Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, will also be open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10:00am till 6:00pm.
