Overview of CCA Public, Concert and Educational ProgramsMay 18, 2019 The Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA) continues its vigorous cultural activities. Over the ten years of its operation, the Center has transformed the traditional understanding of a museum, presenting a wide range of public, concert and educational programs, in addition to various exhibitions. The opening of the exhibitions highlighting the aforementioned programs took place at the Center on the occasion of the International Museum Day on May 18.1. “CCA Public Programs 2009-2018: Overview” - Escalator Gallery The photos and videos presented in the scope of this exhibition provide an overview of the Center’s public programs. Among them, of special significance is “Encounters with Art” program, in the frames of which lectures are delivered by prominent cultural workers. Since the launch of this program the Center has held about 70 encounters with more than 7000 participants. The exhibited photos and videos also reflect memorable moments of the International Museum Day, International Child Protection Day, Traditional Folk Dances, International Jazz Day, and “Gutan” Folk Festival. 2. “CCA Concert Programs 2009-2018: Overview” - Escalator Gallery The aim of this exhibition is to present visitors the concert programs, implemented at the CCA over the ten years of its operation, in particular, Cafesjian Classical Music Series and Music Cascade. Around 280 classical music concerts with more than 20,000 attendees have taken place at the Center so far. We have been honored to host such prominent classical music composers and musicians as Tigran Mansurian, Svetlana Navasardyan, Aram Talalyan, Armen Babakhanyan, Hayk Melikyan, Mirzoyan Quartet, Khachaturian Trio, as well as many other gifted bands and musicians. The Music Cascade concert series of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts presents the best of jazz, pop, rock, as well as traditional music. In the framework of this program, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts has held around 450 concerts, with more than 40,000 attendees. The Armenian Jazz Band, Katuner, Vahagn Hayrapetyan, Dorians, Cadence, Shoghaken, Tigran Hamasyan, Vahan Artsruni and many other renowned musicians, bands and ensembles have performed at the Center. 3. “CCA Educational Programs 2009-2018: Overview” - Sasuntsi Davit Garden Gallery This exhibition features a selection of works authored by the participants of the CCA educational projects. The Center has always laid a special emphasis on the educational function of the museum and has implemented around 50 educational programs and initiatives, designed for different age groups. It is noteworthy that the Center has involved in its programs students of Yerevan and regional schools alike. The total number of the participants of the educational programs exceeds 42,000. In 2017, Cafesjian Teen Council was established at the CCA. Due to the exhibitions and projects initiated by the Council, the Center has become a favorite venue for many teenagers.
