Overview of the International Child Protection Day at CCA

June 01, 2019
The Cafesjian Center for the Arts was full of children on June 1. More than 20.000 visitors participated in various events organized on the occasion of the International Child Protection Day. This holiday was particularly festive at the CCA this year, as the Center also marks its 10th anniversary in 2019. On this occasion, more than 200 schoolchildren fashioned a representation of the CCA 10th anniversary logo first with balloons, and then with flashlights. In addition, children created flags featuring the Center’s artworks, as part of “Your Flag” creative program.

Visitors also participated in the newly launched educational project “Create Your Journey.” In the scope of this project, they explored artworks exhibited at the Center, by completing a set of interactive assignments. Many visitors also stood behind the face cutouts installed at the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden and were photographed as flamboyant carnival characters. The cutouts were designed as part of the educational program "Spring Carnival," based on CCA’s 2016 exhibition, “Reflections,” for artist Robert Elibekian.

The open-air concert by TmbaTa Orchestra, one of the most popular youth folk rock bands in Armenia, magnified the jovial atmosphere. The celebration was concluded with festive fireworks.

The program “Your Flag,” the new educational project “Create Your Journey,” and the concert by the TmbaTa Orchestra were sponsored by Beeline.
