Participants of the Conference Dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO Visited CCA

On July 13 the participants of the Conference Cultural Policy: Policy for Culture. The Role of Culture in Sustainable Development in Post-2015 Agenda, dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of UNESCO, visited the Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA): delegates from over 45 countries and international organizations had a tour at the Center.

The Acting Executive Director of CCA Mr. Vahagn Marabyan welcomed the guests, after which they were divided into groups and had a tour through the galleries of the Center in three languages (English, Russian and French). The participants of the conference were very much impressed with CCA and happy to see such world-class institution in Armenia.

At the end of the tour all the guests were presented with special packages, which included the latest catalogs of the Center and other related materials. Some of the guests shared their impressions in the CCA Guest Book: Assistant Director-General for Culture of UNESCO Mr. Alfredo Perez de Arminian and Archbishop Msgr. Francesco Follo, representing Vatican highly appreciated the Center in their comments.

    On December 26, 2011, during a ceremony hosted by Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts received a Certificate of Gratitude from the Yerevan Municipality. The CCA was recognized for "efficient operations and creative success." The CCA's Acting Executive Director Vahagn Marabyan received the honor on behalf of the Center.
