The Story Behind Ornaments

November 10, 2015
The Story behind Ornaments educational program is based on the exhibition Breath.  It is designed for school children in two different age groups: 7-11 and 12 +.

In the first part of the program participants have a tour in the exhibition and get familiarized with the group-project by artist, architect and designer Vasken Brudian and his students from TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. The details about project are presented during the tour with interactive Q&A.

The second part of the program continues at the Creative Hall of CCA. A Power-point presentation on the medieval Armenian ornamental art, its reflection on architecture, arts and crafts and contemporary design is shown in the second part of the program prior to the creative process.

At the end of the program, summing up all the provided materials participants create their own pieces. The youngest group of participants makes postcards using Armenian ornaments while the elder ones (aged 12 +) carve relieves with ornaments on clay using special instruments.

Participation in the program is free, with prior reservation. For more information please call: +37410 541932/34.
