The Araratian Patriarchal Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church organized festivities on February 15 dedicated to the Barekendan Holiday (Fat Tuesday), celebrated on the eve of the Great Lent.

The event commenced with a Mask March from St. Sargis Church and headed to the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden, where the main activities were centered. The program included national song, dance and theatre performances, games, competitions, as well as an exhibition of paintings by students on the theme of St. Sargis Holiday. Traditional food samples were also distributed to the public.

Thousands of people attended the event. The mood at the Cafesjian Sculpture Garden was very high. All enjoyed the celebration of the old Armenian holiday.
