Writer William Saroyan Presented in CCA’s Encounters with Art SeriesDecember 05, 2011 The December event in Encounters with Art series of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts was dedicated to the prominent American writer of Armenian origin William Saroyan.The tribute evening opened with a projection of a 5-minute video, produced by the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, presenting archive visual materials of William Saroyan, accompanied by quotes from his works and his own voice. The screening was followed by the introduction of William Saroyan and his place in the modern literature, made by professor of Yerevan State University Dr. Henrik Edoyan. The second part of the event featured a performance by the Yerevan State Marionette Theater. Titled You Enter the World, the performance unifies fragments from several short stories and plays by William Saroyan, such as Hello Out There, The Time of Your Life, Coming Through the Rye, A Cold Day.
