The mission of the Cafesjian Museum Foundation (Museum) is to bring the best of contemporary art to Armenia and present the best of Armenian culture to the world.
Inspired by the vision of its founder, Gerard L. Cafesjian, the Museum has organized a wide variety of exhibitions, including a selection of important work from the Cafesjian Art Trust.
Since its opening in November 2009, the Museum has exhibited unique works of modern and contemporary art, organized lectures, film screenings, concert series, and educational programs. More than one million people visit the center annually.
The Cafesjian Sculpture Garden encompasses the area of A. Tamanyan Park at the Cascade. The Park houses numerous works of art, including artworks by renowned artists Fernando Botero, Jaume Plenza, Jack Youngerman, Yue Minjun, Ji Yong-ho and others.
Taking into account the political processes with regard to the National Assembly elections, including the upcoming pre-election campaign and rallies (marches), the Museum asks all parties to refrain from conducting political actions at the premises of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts, including at the Cascade Complex and Tamanyan Park.
We need to remind that according to Article 12, Part 9 of the Law “On Museums”, the use of museums for political activities is prohibited.
Crowded events held for political purposes may cause irreversible damage to museum exhibits.
